Suge Knight's Family Issues A Statement On His Condition, Asks The Public To Ignore Negative Media

The family of Suge Knight is asking for prayers.

According to XXL, Knight's family gave an official statement to Revolt following reports that the former label head was shot multiple times at a pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown.

The family of Suge Knight ask that you keep Suge in your prayers and to stray away from the negativity portrayed by the media. Suge is currently resting and has lost a lot of blood, he's human. He's done a lot of things for the community and the culture as a whole so we ask that you respect that.

As previously reported, Knight was shot in the stomach and arm around 1:30 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 24) at West Hollywood nightclub 1Oak. It was reported that Knight's wounds didn't look lifethreatening.

Tyson Beckford, Richard Ri'chard, and Apple de Ap told TMZ that they heard four shots ring out inside the club during the party.

According to Revolt, Brown invited Knight to the party.

He was reportedly was taken to a nearby hospital where he underwent surgery and is currently in ICU but expected to recover.

Knight wasn't the only shooting victim. The L.A. Times noted that a 32-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were also wounded and taken to the hospital to recover.

The news outlet also pointed out that this is the second time Knight has been shot at a VMA-related party. Back in 2005, he was shot in the leg at a party hosted by Kanye West.

An eyewitness of the event believes that the shot was meant for Brown.
