An accident involving an acrobat happened during the Coachella Festival Day 2.

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2023 officially started its run on April 14. Its Day 2, so far, became the highlight as the K-pop girl supergroup made its historic appearance at the festival alongside Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean.

The second day also saw performances from Underworld, Charli XCX, the Breeders, Linda Lindas, and Jai Paul, among others.

Coachella Day 2 Accident Involves a Female Acrobat

What was supposed to be a smooth-sailing event was wrapped by intense fear after a terrifying accident occurred.

A news outlet shared photos of a female acrobat who fell after twirling around before falling from the stage. Video footage shared by New York Post also captured the moments before and after the fall.

In the now-viral photos and clips, the acrobat can be seen twisting around a hanging curtain. The shocking turn of events happened when she attempted to unfurl the sheet but lost her grip instead.

The woman soon fell between two speakers, causing people to rush to help her.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the motionless woman on the ground. She was reportedly able to blink before she was rushed to a hospital.

According to reports, the fall happened around five minutes into her performance. As of Sunday, it remains unknown what injuries the performer sustained.

Meanwhile, it was noted that a young concertgoer fainted after seeing the woman fall. Others also rushed to the DJ to stop playing the music as paramedics responded to the woman.

Coachella has not commented on the event yet. However, it is worth noting that similar incidents happened in 2019 and one of which, unfortunately, led to the worker's death.

Coachella 2023 Fall Incident Resonates 2019 Events

In 2019, a woman was left injured when a prop fell from a roof structure and struck her. The victim's friend, Kristin Messih, said that she and Caroline were dancing when the object hit both of them.

The soft part hit Messih, but the hard part of it caused a skull fracture and brain bleed to Caroline.

Meanwhile, a Coachella worker also died that year when he fell while constructing the stage. The Indio Police Department said that the worker died at the scene after suffering a traumatic injury.

"He was a hard-working and loving person that cared deeply about his team. As our lead rigger, he was responsible for the countless incredible shows that have been put on at the festival. We will miss him dearly," Coachella organizers Goldenvoice said at that time.

Eyewitnesses said the man fell approximately 60 feet. No safety harness was attached to him at that time, per reports.
