Takeoff's death made an impact not just on his fans and family members, but also on the collaborators he worked with over the past few years. More recently, Calvin Harris performed at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival where he made a big move for his late pal.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, the Scottish record producer took the stage on Sunday evening and paid tribute to the Migos rapper by playing a new version of "Slide."
The original track appeared on his album "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" featuring Offset, Quavo, and Frank Ocean.
How Did Calvin Harris Pay Tribute to Takeoff
Per the outlet, Harris, who has a new song with Ellie Goulding titled "Miracle," added Takeoff's verse from their previous collaboration song "Holiday," which also appeared on the 2017 album.
By doing so, it made fans excited as it was the first time listeners got the chance to hear all members of Migos on the hit single as Takeoff was not originally a part of it.
The original track was a success at the time of its release as it was able to place at number 25 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
"Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1" features some of the biggest artists like Katy Perry, Pharrell, Ariana Grande, Future, Nicki Minaj, Big Sean, and many more.
Calvin Harris released its sequel last year titled "Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2" featuring artists including Justin Timberlake, Halsey, Normani, Tinashe, Dua Lipa, and many more.
Offset Tattoo: Rapper Inked Takeoff's Face in His Back
The world-renowned DJ was not the first person to pay tribute to the late rapper over the past few days as his cousin, Offset, made a big move by getting a tattoo of the beloved musician on his back.
In early reports, Cardi B's husband took to his official Instagram account by sharing a photo of his back, showing an intricately designed tattoo of the rapper's face and upper part of his body.
The portrait also featured a big halo on the back of his head as well as a space-themed background showing the planet Saturn and the galaxy.
In the caption, the musician wrote, "Love you 4L & after," along with a rocket ship, white heart, and white dove emojis.
