Ever since Nicki Minaj used Latto's song "Big Energy" as an example of how The Recording Academy should categorize her song "Super Freaky Girl" at the Grammy Awards, the former had been relentless in trying to spite her supposed idol as the best of her abilities.
On many occasions, Latto seemed to be throwing shots against Nicki Minaj, the same artist who she claimed to be lining up for back then when she was younger. Now, on Latto's Coachella 2023 set, the rapper has been theorized to be taking shots at Minaj again by singing a snippet of an unreleased song.
Latto, Nicki Minaj Feud Reignited in Coachella 2023?
Latto played on the last day of the first weekend of Coachella 2023. According to AllHipHop, the "Lottery" rapper performed an unreleased song, with lyrics seeming to take a jab at the Queen of Rap she notoriously picked a fight with last year.
In a performance that The Shade Room posted on their Instagram account, Latto rapped in a rather snoozed crowd something along the lines of these - "She thought I would kiss her ass, she must ain't took her meds."
In the comment section, netizens pointed out her relentless fighting back at Minaj.
"The highlight of her career was arguing with Nicki. She's gonna hold on to that till the wheels fall off," someone posted.
"Y'all be so team latto in these comments all because of y'all hate for Nicki but when she drop music it be straight crickets.. what's the tea?" another commented.
"She really think she got enough credentials to do this," a user posted.
Before this, many Latto fans pushed back on Nicki Minaj after many pointed out that her song "Red Ruby Da Sleeze" sneakily dragged Latto.
"We don't be Karen like Donna-na-na-na-na-na," she rapped. In their very public Twitter spat last year, Minaj called Latto a "Karen" after infamously being called a "grandma."
Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice Team Up A Diss for Latto
Even before Latto gained prominence, she publicly confessed her admiration for Nicki Minaj, even admitting that she looks up to her as an icon. However, when Nicki Minaj refused to collaborate with her on "Big Energy," Latto seemed to have soured.
She then accused Minaj of not wanting to support "flourishing" female rappers like her, which the latter eventually debunked. Nicki Minaj has now set up her own music label, which already enlisted a few slew of young female hip-hop artists, including the burgeoning rapper Ice Spice.
