After Tory Lanez was officially convicted of three felony counts in connection with last year's incident where he shot Megan Thee Stallion, she has finally spoken out.

Megan (born Megan Pete) has shared with Elle the story of how she overcame the public humiliation she faced as her legal case proceeded.

Through perseverance, she was eventually triumphant and could reflect on her experience with pride.

The cover story delves into this journey that challenged her spirit but ultimately strengthened it.

The "Savage" rapper said, "I don't want to call myself a victim. As I reflect on the past three years, I view myself as a survivor, because I have truly survived the unimaginable."

She went on to say, "Not only did I survive being shot by someone I trusted and considered a close friend, but I overcame the public humiliation of having my name and reputation dragged through the mud by that individual for the entire world to see."

In response to social media comments made by Tory, the harrowing effects they had on her emotionally were not ignored by Megan.

She declared how her attacker has been mocking and negating her suffering for a long time and claimed that Tory has been attempting to create false accounts of what happened on the night of July 12, 2020.

This was in reference to Tory's reported attempts to twist the facts about what indeed occurred that evening.

"For years, my attacker tried to leverage social media to take away my power. Imagine how it feels to be called a liar every day? Especially from a person who was once part of your inner circle."

Despite the physical pain she endured from her foot injury after being shot, the false narratives surrounding her experience weighed heaviest upon her spirit.

"The hurtful jokes were a daily reminder of my devastation," said an emotional but determined "WAP" rapper. "But I persevered, even as people treated my trauma like a running joke."

Megan had hit a low point in her life as she faced difficulty composing music and no longer had any desire to rap. However, through prayer, she is now in a more stable headspace after going through an intense period of time over her last three years.

"Talking about being shot still makes me emotional. I've started journaling as a way to better process my thoughts, hopes, and fears."
