Post Malone might not be as noisy as anyone else in the Billboard Hot 100 right now, but he recently bagged a record-setting feat that many would try to break anytime soon!
The Recording Industry Association of America recently certified three of Posty's tracks as Diamond, making him the first-ever artist in history to have eight Diamond-selling singles!
Post Malone 8 Diamond Singles in RIAA
According to the Universal Music Group, Post Malone's three tracks - "Circles," "I Fall Apart," and "Better Now" - all reached the threshold of being certified as Diamond. (via Billboard)
According to RIAA, Diamond-certified singles are singles, or songs, that have accumulated 10 million units sold in the United States.
Here are the eight tracks that have been certified as Diamond by RIAA
- White Iverson
- Congratulations (feat. Quavo)
- I Fall Apart
- Rockstar (feat. 21 Savage)
- Psycho (feat. Ty Dolla $ign)
- Better Now
- Sunflower (with Swae Lee)
- Circles
Among all of the tracks, "Sunflower" with Swae Lee is the highest certified single of all-time with 17x Platinum, a total of 17 million units sold. Per data, it is tied with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus' "Old Town Road."
Billboard reports that Elton John was the first artist to have received the Diamond certification on his hit 1997 song "Something About The Way You Look Tonight / Candle In The Wind." Meanwhile, Halsey received the 100th track to receive the Diamond status with "Without Me" just this February 2023.
Republic Records and Post Malone celebrated the history-setting feat by releasing a compilation album containing all of his eight Diamond-certified singles, along with his new song "Chemicals."
