Metallica's new album, "72 Seasons," helped the metal rock band to secure a new feat on UK Albums Chart.
Metallica formally marked the arrival of its first album in six years by dropping "72 Seasons" on April 14. The album, released on April 14, serves as the band's 12th studio album.
Upon release, "72 Seasons" already dominated several charts, with the UK Albums Chart the most recent one.
Metallica Scores No. 1 on UK Albums Chart With "72 Seasons"
The Official Charts Company confirmed that Metallica's "72 Seasons" ranked No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart a week after it was released.
According to the data shared by the company, the band's studio LP became the fourth album to top the UK chart following "Metallica," "Load," and "Death Magnetic." The latter was released in 2008.
It also garnered the feat for the first time in 15 years.
"Number 1 in the U.K.? Spectacular! We.re grateful. Thank you, U.K. We can't wait to see you!" Metallica exclusively told Official Charts Company.
Metallica is yet to stop making history and breaking new records as the band is gearing up to perform on the "biggest stage ever" since its debut.
Metallica To Celebrate in Upcoming Tours
Starting April 27, Metallica will have the M72 tour and continue the trek for two years. It also pledged to offer "The Dream Setlist" to fans.
Some of the confirmed songs include "Fight Fire With Fire," "Trapped Under Ice," "Disposable Heroes," "Wherever I May Roam," "Lux Aeterna," "Atlas, Rise!" "Creeping Death," "The Unforgiven," and "The Four Horsemen," to name a few.
"Lars will give us three choices for a certain slot and if we don't feel like playing a particular song, we have a say. Especially James, because he has to sing and be comfortable with how the songs are positioned in a two-hour show," Robert Trujillo said of the upcoming shows.
