Zendaya surprised everyone by returning to Coachella for the first time in seven years, is this a sign that she is finally going to make new music again?
The actress took to Instagram to thank her fans and the audience for the great reception: "I cannot express my gratitude enough for this magical night. Thank you my brother Labrinth for inviting me and giving me the most beautiful safe space to be on a stage again."
"And to the crowd tonight ... wow ... my heart is so full. I can't thank you enough for the love I received tonight, made all my nerves melt away, I'm so grateful."
According to reports, the "Euphoria" star performed "I'm Tired" and "All For Us" at the music festival, songs which were featured on her hit HBO series.
"I have never heard screaming like that in my entire life," she said. "[...] You know ... it was so special. Everybody was singing along, and it was so cool. So so cool. So thank you all for welcoming me back on that stage with open arms."
Among all the excitement, some wondered if the performance hinted at her return to music or simply a PR stunt to promote the show's upcoming season.
However, it seems like the Coachella performance was really just a one-off because Zendaya already made up her mind about her music career.
Good-bye, Music
Back in 2022, Zendaya, along with Andrew Garfield, was interviewed by L'Officiel USA; she was asked about her music career, and whether she had plans of reviving it.
The answer was simple for the "The Dune" star, "I was talking to Sam [Levinson] about it earlier. I was like, I don't know if I could be a pop star. It's because as an actress, there's a level of anonymity that I get to have, which I really enjoy."
Glimpses
While Zendaya has chosen acting over music, that does not mean that fans would never see her sing a song or two ever again; her Coachella performance is proof of that.
But aside from the occasional performances, fans can still hope that the actress takes on a role that she has to sing, like her role in "The Greatest Showman."
"And I can sort my stuff, whatever it is, through a character, and nobody needs to know about it," Zendaya continued. "Whereas in other ways and other means, it's all you all the time."
The actress, who began her career on the Disney Channel, has released a studio album, and several singles.
