Was Richie Faulkner ever received an invitation to become part of the reformed lineup of Pantera?

The Judas Priest guitarist recently worked with Pantera bassist Rex Brown for his debut album with his new band, Elegant Weapons.

Although he has a new band, Faulkner was recently asked whether he was ever tapped to have guitar duties for Pantera.

Richie Faulkner Says Only Zakk Wylde Can "Do Pantera Gigs"

Speaking with Meltdown of Detroit's WRIF radio station, Faulkner revealed whether he was ever selected to become part of the Pantera's lineup for its current comeback tour.

According to Faulkner, he was not asked to do so before declaring that only Wylde can do the job.

"To me, there was only one guy that could do that, and that's Zakk [Wylde]," he said. "To me, there's a thousand guys on YouTube that can play that stuff note for note, but there's only one guy that had that relationship with the band and with Dime. And that's Zakk."

Despite not having the desire to join Pantera, Faulkner said he was able to meet the late drummer Vinnie Paul before his death. He also met Philip Anselmo but was never lucky to see Dimebag.

Faulkner also expressed how unfortunate it was for him that he never saw the classic lineup of Pantera perform together. Still, he told the younger generation of fans that they have all the chance to listen to the band's classic songs play by the remaining surviving members of the group.

His comments resonated with what he told the radio show "Sonic Boom" on Real Rock 100.3 The Fox in Rapid City, South Dakota. At that time, he said Zakk was able to play for the band due to his relationship with Dime.

Richie Faulkner's New Band

Before sharing its first album, Faulkner hyped fans by saying that the band's music would be "a mix of Jimi Hendrix, Judas Priest, Sabbath, solo Ozzy and Black Label Society - heavy, catchy, and with melody."

The songs included in the album are:

1. Dead Man Waling

2. Do Or Die

3. Blind Leaving The Blind

4. Ghost of You

5. Bitter Pill

6. Lights Out

7. Horns For A Halo

8. Dirty Pig

9. White Horse

0. Downfall Rising

The band will start its tour in Europe from June to July, and some shows will feature Pantera.
