AI music is highly debated over the past few months as there have been countless songs circulating online featuring the voices of artists who never recorded the tracks. However, there are also more musicians who approve of the idea of modern technology.
According to Rock 108, Avenged Sevenfold frontman M. Shadows recently expressed his thoughts over the artificial intelligence trend in music and it appears that he agrees with the idea behind it.
Taking to his official Twitter account, the rock star agreed with Grimes' previous sentiments, saying he likes what the experimental singer is doing with "her likeness and AI."
Although M. Shadows is still unsure about the logistics of being under a recording label, he wanted to help facilitate the band's "sound to producers and fans "to create original [Avenged Sevenfold] songs using this technology.
AI Music: M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold Admits There Are a Lot of Stuff to Figure Out
The musician's idea is still in the early process as there are still a lot of things to figure out and consider, especially when it comes to splitting royalties. He later asked his fans about their thoughts on the matter.
One user then asked a question, "Wait but if it's an AI that makes an [Avenged Sevenfold] song, would the AI developer have the splits or the person that requested the AI to create that song?"
To which the rocker responded with, "Stuff to figure out...."
As of this writing, there are still no concrete plans for Avenged Sevenfold's AI music.
Grimes Approves of AI Music
The recent tweet comes after Grimes announced that she wanted her fans to generate AI music using her voice and she's willing to split the royalties with them.
She told fans that those who will generate her voice successfully in a song will have 50% of the earnings, adding that it's also applicable to any artists she collaborated with.
One of the main reasons why the electronic singer is allowed to make such a move to her music is because she's an independent artist and is not under any recording label.
Artificial Intelligence music has recently taken the internet by storm, especially on social media platforms like TikTok. These songs feature the voices of artists that were completely produced by technology.
Many artists oppose the idea like Khalid who mentioned that it removes the authenticity.
