This year's Bamboozle Festival will not happen, the organizers confirmed.

The New Jersey Festival has been bringing artists to New Jersey since its foundation in 2002. While it stopped in 2012, the organizers planned to celebrate its relaunch from May 5 to 7 but the event has since been canceled.

Bamboozle Festival 2023 Organizers Announce Cancelation

The now-canceled 3-day Bamboozle Festival was arranged to happen at Bader Field in Atlantic City. The organizers wanted to make it special as it would have been the first event they had since the festival held the final show in 2012 due to a dispute between the organizers.

However, the event's organizers penned a statement on its website and social media accounts announcing the cancelation of the event.

"An incredible amount of time, dedication, passion and hard work was invested into making this comeback a success," the announcement read. "We appreciate everyone who supported this festival. Refunds should be requested at the point of purchase."

The Bamboozle Festival 2023 was set to bring several artists and acts to the city, including Ice Spice, Trippie Red, Limp Bizkit, Motionless in White, Bad Omens, Hollywood Undead, Saves the Day, Mayday Parade, Say Anything, and a Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, among others.

The organizers did not disclose the reason behind the cancelation. But several news outlets revealed it had something to do with the permits.

Why Is Bamboozle Festival 2023 Canceled?

The Philadelphia Inquirer cited Atlantic City officials' decision not to issue final permits to the festival. It noted that the organizer's failure to provide and submit the required paperwork - including emergency evacuation, medical plans, and insurance certificates - led the officials not to allow the Bamboozle Festival 2023 to push through.

The publication added that the organizers did not pay the facility and licensing fees before the April 27 deadline.

Atlantic City business administrator Anthony Swan said that the officials already saw the concern when the festival organizers could not provide the requirements in a timely manner.

"We asked for this information months in advance to protect the city and the taxpayers of Atlantic City," the admin continued. "The event was fast approaching, and these issues were still unresolved."

Festival organizer John D'Esposito did not directly respond to the development.

Despite being one of the most popular music festivals in New Jersey, Bamboozle Festival has been hit with several controversies since it started. For what it's worth, concertgoers said the organizers used false advertising to sell tickets with whopping prices.

They also failed to have their promised big-name acts on the events.
