It's the first Monday in May, and you know what that means: it's finally the Met Gala again.
All the eyes and ears in the world will be tuning in and wondering which of their favorite stars made it into the highly exclusive and coveted Met Gala 2023 attendees list.
However, it should be noted that this list will only go over the musicians and artists who have been invited to walk up the iconic steps of The Metropolitan Museum of Arts in New York City.
The theme for the 2023 Met Gala is in honor of the late designer Karl Lagerfeld, "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty."
Phoebe Bridgers
According to Vogue, the singer may have followed the theme, but she still managed to put a personal touch to the stunning custom Tory Burch dress she wore to the Met Gala.
"I've worn skeleton costumes for my entire adult life, but this is a really cool, subtle take on it," Bridgers explained.
Apparently, the nod to Lagerfeld in her fit was the gems and pearls that adorned the black dress, as the late designer was not afraid to add a little sparkle to his work.
Ice Spice
As a newcomer to both the music scene and the Met Gala, Ice Spice did not disappoint with her white sequined ensemble crafted by Balmain.
"I'm just so grateful, I'm so happy to be here," she said. "You know, I was like really nervous approaching the carpet. And once I heard everybody screaming, I felt better."
BLACKPINK's Jennie
It was about time one of South Korea's fashion icons grace the steps of The Met.
Jennie Kim, a member of the highly successful KPOP girl group BLACKPINK, has been a muse of Chanel for quite some time now, and this year is her debut.
The singer arrived wearing a vintage black and white ensemble by Chanel, a little understated compared to the other attendees' fits, but classic and gorgeous nonetheless.
Ironically, perhaps the simple yet elegant look was chosen for a reason: so Jennie could sit down.
During her interview, the KPOP star joked about how people manage to sit down in wearable pieces of art: "I see people wearing these crazy dresses; I'm so curious to see how they sit down!"
Doja Cat
Doja Cat always understands the assignment. The "Woman" singer arrived at The Met, channeling Lagerfeld's beloved cat, Choupette.
According to reports, Doja Cat is wearing a white bejeweled gown by Oscar de la Renta. The stunning silhouette is one thing, but the amazing makeup and prosthetics are another.
Kim Petras
Kim Petras stunned the crowd with her black and white dress by Mar Jacobs along with insanely high-heeled boots.
Fans praised the singer for always delivering the most "campy" looks on the runway, just as she did in 2021.
The Met Gala is not done welcoming its attendees, so fans can definitely count on more updates coming later on. Several people are also hoping to see their favorite stars, like BTS' Jimin and Rihanna grace the steps, but as of this writing, that has not happened yet.
