Last night, Twitter served as a universal watch party for the MTV VMAs with just about everyone offering up their commentary on the award show, but one thing that was said apparently didn't sit well with Lil' Kim.
During the run of the show, K. Michelle, who is supposedly friends with the veteran rapper, sent out a tweet calling Nicki Minaj the "Queen of Rap."
As one can imagine, the tweet caused an uproar amongst Lil' Kim fans who promptly flooded the "Can't Raise A Man" singer's mentions.
K fired back with, "It's my opinion if you don't like it deeeezzzzz nuts. Stay out my mentions. Carry on." Her tweet only made matters worse as fans like @Rizzy420ogQB tweeted messages like, "@kmichelle You know a lot of people f**ked with u cuz u showed @lilkim love .. so go make a track with Nicki and watch ur next album flop."Ouch!
Not one to back down from a war of words, K proceeded to insult Kim's fans calling them "motherless kids." She also defended her right to like both artists.
Once the Brooklyn femcee caught wind of the shade K. Michelle was throwing at her fans, Lil' Kim promptly took to Twitter to shut down the commotion. She tweeted K. Michelle directly saying, "You know I love u girl but ur tweets were a little shady. it's definitely ok to like both. We don't hate over here."
That should've been it right? Wrong! The two exchanged several tweets and Minaj even jumped in the mix thanking K for her compliment.
Aside from her brief Twitter beef, Lil' Kim has been gearing up to release her Hard Core 2K14 mixtape next month. She has been building up momentum for her mixtape with the release of remixes to Beyoncé's "Flawless" and Bobby Shmurda's "Hot N***a," in addition to the Nicki Minaj diss track "Identity Theft."
