The 2023 MET Gala is over, and among the stand-out outfits from the crowd was Lil Nas X, who, like Jared Leto and Doja Cat, dressed as a cat on the blue, white, and red carpets!

Lil Nas X made headlines, as expected, because of what he looked like when he strutted at the 2023 MET Gala yesterday, May 2, 2023. While some seemed to love the show he put on, many were appalled at how he was almost nude at the gathering.

Dressed as Karl Lagerfeld's cat Choupette, Lil Nas X was covered with nothing but silver full-body glitter, rhinestones, a bedazzled jockstrap, and boots.

According to Billboard, Montero left little to the imagination with his rather revealing outfit he wore at the MET. Purring on photographers and interviewers, the "Industry Baby" rapper channeled his inner feline as he made quite a show on the carpet.

The MET Gala honored the works and the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, a renowned fashion icon. With the theme "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," Lil Nas X, Doja Cat, and even Jared Leto surprised everyone with their respective interpretations of his cat, Choupette.

Lil Nas X MET Gala 2023 Outfit Mixed Reactions

Like much of the netizens, many found Lil Nas X's MET Gala 2023 outfit nothing but impressive.

"I don't think people realize how subversive and meaningful it is in an age of increased queerphobia for arguably the most famous queer person in the world right now to turn up practically naked. They wanna erase us and Lil Nas X said fuck that. We're crystallizing," a user tweeted.

"doja and lil nas x completely commit to their looks. you have to give them their tens for that #MetGala," another commented. While the look was representative of the queer culture, many said that Lil Nas X's outfit was too lewd for practically showing his behind on the carpet where the fashion of the largest scale was being observed.

Some had even likened him to a street performer, and even Kunnal Nayar's Guy Diamond Silver Troll on "Trollz."
