Some of the biggest musicians in the music industry has a unique ability to see something out of music, and yes, you heard it correctly. The condition is called Synesthesia and it's common in famous artists than you think.

Before breaking down which celebrities has Synesthesia, let's discuss its meaning first. According to Web MD, the condition is simply described as something that translates music into visual like colors or shapes.

A person who has this condition might instantly see color whenever they hear a certain word. Synesthesia develops over time and it most commonly affect women than men.

Lorde

During a Q&A on Twitter, the New Zealand-born artist revealed that she is a synesthete. Her condition is called chromesthesia, which is a type of the condition mentioned above.

What the pop star is experiencing is unique as she sees corresponding colors whenever she hears a specific musical note or sound.

Her condition helped her with her musical abilities; she previously explained that if she see colors that are "ugly," she won't work on that specific song. (via Mashable and Showbiz Cheatsheet)

During her Vogue 73 Questions video, the musician shared the corresponding colors to all of her albums. Her debut record, "Pure Heroine," is green, "Melodrama" is violet, and her latest album, "Solar Power," is gold.

Grimes

Canadian experimental pop star Grimes has a completely different type of synesthesia because instead of seeing colors, she would see what kind of animal a person would be when she looks at them.

In a previous interview, the musician, who's currently encouraging other creators to use her voice for AI music, revealed that she is a combination of "a hyena and a beluga."

Billie Eilish

Speaking with Rolling Stone in 2019, the pop singer gave fans an insight into her Synesthesia, saying having colors, shapes, and numbers in her head is completely normal to her.

Having this condition also helped her be inspired with what she's doing in her career like music videos, album artworks, and many more.

Kanye West

During his appearance at the "Ellen Show," Kanye West revealed that he has the condition and everything he creates, whether it's music or not, almost translates into paintings.

"Everything I sonically make is a painting. I see it. I see the importance and the value of everyone being able to experience a more beautiful life," he said. (via NY Daily News)
