Nick Cave faced criticism online after fans found out that he will be attending the coronation of King Charles III in the United Kingdom as many people knew him as someone who has strong political views. More recently, the rocker issued a statement, explaining why he decided to attend the royal event.
Taking to his Red Hand Files website, the musician answered the question fans had been asking him since it was announced that he's going to be present at the rare event.
Beginning his statement, the rock singer, known for his political undertones in songs, said he's not a "monarchist" nor he is a "royalist," nor even an "ardent republican."
"what I am also not is so spectacularly incurious about the world and the way it works, so ideologically captured, so damn grouchy, as to refuse an invitation to what will more than likely be the most important historical event in the UK of our age," he added. (via Billboard)
