This year's Celebration gathering at Prince's Paisley Park will be extra special.

Each year, Prince's estate and family come together with the fans to remember the late singer's life and legacy since he died in 2016. Seven years after Prince's passing, the number "7" will be highlighted at the Celebration 2023.

Prince's Estate To Open His Vault of Unreleased Songs

Paisley Park's official website confirmed that the Celebration 2023 would take place from June 8 to 11 and would allow the public to share stories about the late singer's music and life.

Rolling Stone added that Prince's private estate would open his vault of unreleased music, which he created before his death on April 21, 2016. As of press time, it is estimated that the vault has thousands of unreleased tracks.

In 2021, his estate released "Welcome 2 America." Prince recorded the track in 2010 but only released it a decade later and years after his passing.

Previously, his sister Tyka Nelson noted that she did not mind if people heard the small stuff in Prince's music as she knew those songs would last a lifetime.

"That might teach some little boy that wants to learn how to put a song together. We never know. Anything and everything, get it out there," Nelson said. "If I live 100, 200 years, I would definitely be there helping to oversee getting it out. But Prince's music will outlive me for sure."

Celebration 2023 will also feature performances by special guests, including Doug E, D-Nice, Chuck D, DJ Rashida, Mint Condition's Stokley, and Chaka Khan.

Prince's previous backup singer and now-solo artist Shelby J will also perform alongside NPG and Minneapolis youth choir, MPLS.

Why No. 7 Will Play a Huge Role in Celebration 2023

Ahead of the event, Paisley Park said the upcoming Celebration 2023 would allow guests to discover the cultural significance of number 7.

It explained that, apart from Prince being born on June 7, 1958, the number also played a huge role in his music as he also had the song "7." The Celebration 2023 will also mark the seventh year of preserving his contributions and remembering his life.

Those who want to attend the event can purchase tickets online although VIP tickets have since been sold out. General Admission tickets are still available as of press time.
