Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez were literally friendship goals as they both won big in the music categories of the MTV Movie & TV Awards.
The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards still pushed through at the eleventh hour, despite not being a live show. It was turned into a pre-taped show with Drew Barrymore appearing on films and television shows in the opening segment.
2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards Debacle
Actress/host Drew Barrymore quit her hosting gig at the 2023 MTV Movie and TV Awards in solidarity with the Writers Guild of America strike.
However, she shot a pre-taped segment for the show and appeared less on the whole show which was turned into a pre-taped show rather than a live audience spectacle.
Nonetheless, the show pushed through and winners from film and television were announced.

MTV Movie & TV Awards 2023 Music Category Winners
Three of the categories at the MTV Movie & TV Awards were devoted to music and the two categories were one by music's ultimate besties - Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez.
Taylor Swift's "Carolina" won Best Song. She managed to win against other nominees like Rihanna's "Lift Me Up," Doja Cat's "Vegas," Lady Gaga's "Hold My Hand," Imagine Dragons "I Ain't Worried," and Demi Lovato's "Still Alive."
Selena Gomez won Best Music Documentary for her heartbreaking retelling of her mental health journey in "Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me." She won against "Love, Lizzo," "Halftime," "Shery," and "The Day Music Died: The Story of Don McLean's American Pie."
Meanwhile, "Purple Hearts'" "Come Back Home" won Best Musical Moment winning against many other notable musical moments in television and film in the past year.
