Morgan Wallen finally gave fans an update regarding his health after suddenly canceling his show several weeks back.
"I'm just gonna go ahead and get straight to it," the country music singer began in a recently uploaded Instagram video. "I got some bad news from my doctors at the Vanderbilt Voice Center yesterday. After taking 10 days of vocal rest I performed three shows last weekend in Florida and by the third one I felt terrible."
He also revealed that by performing again, he managed to reinjure his vocal cords, and he now has what is called a vocal fold trauma.
That is why he was advised to rest his vocal cords for six weeks by his doctors to avoid any permanent damage; he was also urged by his team to not even speak at all.
Health Crisis
According to People magazine, Wallen will have to cancel a lot of booked engagements and performances if he wants to keep his voice and career.
Among his canceled appearances includes his supposed performance at the Academy of Country Music Awards, several festival performances, and live shows from his tour.
"[The doctors] told me that if I do this the right way that I'll get back to 100%," he continued. "They also said that if I don't listen and I keep singing, I'll permanently damage my voice. So for the longevity of my career, this is the choice I had to make. I hate it but I love you guys."
Lawsuit
The news of Wallen's severe vocal cord injury comes after a group of fans filed a class action lawsuit against him for suddenly canceling his show last minute in Oxford, Mississippi.
Although the announcement revealed that the show was canceled because the singer could not sing, there were speculations that the reason behind the cancelation was because he was too drunk to perform.
"Losing his voice is bullc**p," an unnamed security guard told the fans who recorded him and uploaded the video on social media.
However, Wallen's camp also went online to denounce the rumors: "A hired employee of BEST Crowd Management made false claims as it related to last night's Morgan Wallen concert and we do not stand by the detail in his statement."
As of this writing, the class action lawsuit has not been pushed through, however, the lawyer of the fans says that they will be refiling the case.
