The Weeknd's upcoming TV show "The Idol" is finally premiering in a few weeks, but little did his fans know what he sacrificed in order to make the series work.
Speaking with W Magazine, the "Save Your Tears" hitmaker revealed that whenever he works on music, he doesn't release it until he thinks it's great, and since working on film and television is his new "creative muscle," it wouldn't be any different.
The upcoming show was met with controversy over the past few months which led to The Weeknd and his team to re-do the series. For it to work, the singer said he had to sacrifice a lot, including his health and home.
"It was a challenge to redo The Idol, and, in truth, I sacrificed my health and home to make it work," he explained. (via Clutch Points)
The musician later noted that if ever the show comes out "horrible," it would be okay with him as he knows that he did his "absolute best."
"Everything is a risk: When you've done the best you can, I would call that a happy ending," he added.

What Happened to 'The Idol'?
According to the outlet, "The Idol" was originally directed by Amy Seimetz. However, a shocking turn of events surprised fans when it was announced last year that Sam Levinson would be taking over the show.
The new director reportedly "scrapped" the original material, which was worth around $54-$75 million. The production team filmed the entire thing again for five months.
Levinson told the outlet that quitting the series was not an option for him and the singer as it was a dream of them together.
Since they were lacking the budget, the pair opted to shoot the series at The Weeknd's house.
The Weeknd Final Album
Elsewhere in the interview, the "Blinding Lights" hitmaker revealed that his transition into the film and TV industry made him question the future of his career in music.
At the moment, the musician admits that he's on his "cathatic path," but he's getting ready to close the chapter of The Weeknd.
However, he clarified that he will still write and release music in the future, but this time, it would be under his real name, Abel Tesfaye.
