Interpol's upcoming studio album El Pintor is streaming right now over at NPR, two weeks before it's set for release on Sept. 9 through Matador Records.
El Pintor will be Interpol's fifth studio album, its first since 2010's Interpol. It will be the band's first album since the departure of bassist Carlos Dengler, who left in May 2010 following the recording of Interpol. For El Pintor, lead vocalist Paul Banks handled bass duties, though the band's current live bassist is Brad Truax.
Though El Pintor was self-produced, it was engineered by James Brown (not that James Brown, obviously), who has previously worked with Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys, and mixed by Alan Moulder, who is most famous for his work with My Bloody Valentine and Smashing Pumpkins.
