Billy McFarland, infamously known for being one of the head organizers of Fyre Festival, revealed that a Broadway musical revolving around the failed event might come out in the future; find out more information below.
Speaking with NYC journalist Adam Glyn, as reported by Billboard, the Fyre Media founder said the show will feature current artists instead of traditional Broadway actors.
The said musical will revolve around the story of the first Fyre Festival and it would make fun of him as well as share the positive sides.
Tentatively titled "Fyre Fest 1.5," the entrepreneur said he will not be featured in the musical himself, but rather he would be the one narrating the entire show. In addition, an actor would also play him in the upcoming project.
"I have a killer partner who is doingall the logistics. I'm here to just f*** things up and make s*** go viral," he said regarding the venue and dates.
As of this writing the Broadway musical has yet to reveal its official dates, actors, and main plot.
Fyre Fest 2.0 Coming Soon?
After the horrific Fyre Festival that happened a few years back, McFarland revealed that the Bahamian people who were involved in the event are getting paid at the moment as well as some companies.
Speaking of details about the upcoming music event, the entrepreneur noted that it would be in another undisclosed island and he promises to get the "best music partners" for the bathrooms, toilets, and food.
It appears that McFarland has a bad reputation within the music industry as he noted that there are artists who were disappointed when he called them to perform for the event, but there were also musicians who have been contacting his team.
As of this writing, there are still no details about the lineup and official date for Fyre Fest 2.0
What Happened to Fyre Festival?
Fyre Festival was a fraudulent event founded by McFarland and Ja Rule. Initially, fans were hyped to attend the event as it was promoted by some of the biggest public figures like Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and more. (via VICE)
The event took place on the island of Great Exuma in the Bahamas. However, when concertgoers arrived, heavy rainfall ruined the event, which led to tents and mattresses being soaking wet.
Fans were unfortunate to leave the festival as the nearest resort has already been fully booked as it was peak season.
In 2018, the co-organizer admitted to the court that he defrauded investors in the disastrous event, leading him to be sentenced to six years in prison.
