Taylor Swift's fans are in crisis mode. Half of them are demanding that the singer take accountability for dating problematic singer Matty Healy, while the others are desperately trying to act like the entire thing isn't happening.
From an outsider's perspective, the discourse might seem pretty amusing, some insist that it's not that big of a deal.
Lewis Capaldi, who is known to poke fun at pretty much anything on the internet, including himself, has finally decided to join in the fun.
Heated Discourse Joke?
The singer took to TikTok to share a video of himself going "crazy" with various transitions that allude to fans or as he put it, "random people on the Internet, preparing to give their thoughts on the 'Taylor Swift/Matty Healy discourse'."
The video, captioned "the world must hear what I have to say," is a joke, but fans don't really see it that way.
Some fans have decided that Capaldi's jest isn't really that funny, and it seems like a reach to them.
"He's trying so hard to remain relevant," one wrote.
"Who, who, and who?" Another added.
"This is so unfunny like-he wants to be Gen Z so bad."
"Literally who?"
"You're so ugly and no one likes you."
"Am I supposed to know this man?" A fan wrote.
'Never Been This Happy'
The discourse Capaldi seems to be referring to is the video after video and threat after thread of fans demanding accountability from the "Anti-Hero" singer.
Despite her being blissfully happy, she declared during one of her tour shows, "I kind of feel like telling you, I don't know, I've just never been this happy in my life in all aspects of my life ever before," fans don't seem too happy with her new relationship.
"Literally just begging for Taylor Swift to take accountability for her silence after purporting to be such a huge ally throughout the Lover era," a fan wrote.
"I'm disgusted by everything matty healy has done I hate that man with everything in me but I also don't care about Taylor Swift or Phoebe Bridgers cause they don't know who I am, but yes I agree they should all be taking accountability, especially for everything they stand for."
