Denise Welch opened up about her son Matt Healy's life in the aftermath of The 1975's new romance with Taylor Swift.
The "Loose Women" star, who has a 22-year-old son Louis and a daughter Matty with ex-husband Tim Healy, celebrated her 65th birthday on Monday and spoke to OK! Magazine about her recovery path and her family in honor of the occasion.
She revealed that her son, Matty, is exhausted as he continues to tour the world with his popular band. She hinted that Matty is completely spent. He's on a world tour, and it pains her to say that she feels awful for him.
She said that many people underestimate how difficult it is for Matthew to be the lead performer, creator, writer, and producer of such a large production. She lamented on how tired he must be in his jetsetting life. She shared she exits the stage and joins a plane for a seven-hour flight, followed by a twenty-four-hour flight. It's a wonderful life, but he's fatigued and longs for a break.
She did not say Taylor Swift makes him tired, but then dealing with all these romance stuff must add to his busy-ness. There are even allegations that Healy is willing to make time to write a couple songs with Taylor Swift for her next album, and perform some songs for it too!
Taylor Swift and Matty Healy originally ignited dating rumors earlier this month, following her unexpected separation from British actor Joe Alwyn. The couple has been photographed together in public, seemingly confirming their connection.
Denise exclaimed more that her son is a creative genius. She said she has so much of his work before he enters the stage, including what he says and thinks, so she finds him amazing, her son or not.
She said she cannot even believe sometimes that she gave birth to such a star. She added that Matty Healy and Louis are very encouraging to one another. Because their father is a brilliant actor, he is descended from two incredibly creative people.
Denise was ecstatic with her sobriety throughout the interview, and she praised Matty for conquering his own addictions after undergoing treatment for heroin addiction in November 2017.
She revealed that Matty had his demons but their family helped him overcome them, and he has emerged victorious.
The family members all encourage one another, and she's very proud of how far he's come with the help of his family and friends.
