Tina Turner has died at the age of 83 after her long battle against her ill health, which began in 2016.
According to reports, the Rock 'n' Roll Queen died peacefully in her Küsnacht home, which is near Zurich, Switzerland.
"Tina Turner, the 'Queen of Rock'n Roll' has died peacefully today at the age of 83 after a long illness in her home in Kusnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model," the statement read.
Her health began to decline following her intestinal cancer diagnosis in 2016, which led to various other related complications, like requiring a kidney transplant back in 2017.
Between then and now, Turner has lived out the rest of her life quietly in Europe, and by all means, it seems like she passed trying her hardest to forgive and forget, in order to live a good life.
Tina's Time
Turner was a force to be reckoned with. Her vocals is one of the most distinct and iconic voices that a music lover can and will recognize from anywhere.
Her legacy will continue to grow and blossom, as she had laid the bricks many years ago.
In 2018, Turner's energy and musical character was described as "a charged combination of mystery as well as light, melancholy mixed with a ferocious vitality that often flirted with danger."
Her career has spanned decades, starting from the 1950s up until the early 2000s. She went on tours regularly from 1977 until 2009 for her "Tina!: 50th Anniversary Tour."
Accolades and Achievements
Turner is one of the most celebrated and decorated artists of all time. She boasts six Grammy Awards and has released several chart-topping hits like "Typical Male," "The Best," "Private Dancer," "Better Be Good To Me," and more.
