Katy Perry has proved herself as one of the pillars of the pop music industry over the past years after releasing countless hits that she was remembered for.
However, there are a lot of songs that the public didn't pay that much of attention and they're worth listening to.
Check out the top five underrated songs by Katy Perry that you should hear right now!
Hummingbird Heartbeat
Written by Perry, Monte Neuble, Stacy Barthe, and Tricky Stewart, "Hummingbird Heartbeat" is a part of the pop singer's second album "Teenage Dream."
It was reportedly one of the first few songs that she wrote for the record and it was also around the same time when she first met Russell Brand.
Speaking about the creation of the song, she was inspired by a literal hummingbird when she saw it eating outside her window while she was having breakfast.
She was curious about how fast the bird's heartbeat is per minute and she used that idea "for someone making your heart beat really, really fast."
By the Grace of God
"By The Grace of God" is a song from the "American Idol" judge's fourth album "Prism." It was written by herself and Greg Wells.
Recorded in 2012, it was the first song she wrote for the record and it was reportedly about her having suicidal thoughts after her separation and divorce from her ex-husband, Russell Brand.
The song is a ballad with a piano instrumental which is unique to the singer as she mostly sings pop songs.

Pendulum
"Pendulum" is from 2017's "Witness." It was written by Perry, and Sarah Hudson, and was produced by Jeff Bhasker.
The track is number 14 on the record and she first teased it on Instagram in early 2017.
Fans were happy to hear the musician explore her sound as the song has a gospel vibe to it, compared to her previous tracks with club-ready beats.
Mannequin
Written by Katy Perry herself, the song was produced by Greg Wells.
The track is one of the songs from her first album "One of the Boys." It was reportedly about the same man she took inspiration to for the song "Ur So Gay."
Into Me You See
Another song from her album "Witness," "Into Me You See" was a song that wasn't supposed to be a part of her record.
The reason why she almost didn't include the track was because she thought 15 songs was a lot for her album, but she ultimately decided to keep it as she took a break for four years and it's a way for her to treat fans.
The title is a wordplay of "intimacy."
