Taylor Swift Gets Delicious, Unusual Gift From New Jersey For 'The Eras Tour' Stop

Every time Taylor Swift goes on a state for her next "The Eras" Tour, she always gets handed with a special gift from the local government. May it be a grand gesture like renaming a street, lighting up a bridge a specific color, giving her the key to the city, or even hailing her as a mayor for a day - one would think she received everything already.

However, Swift's next stop at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey got her a special and scrumptious New Jersey welcome, they've given her a state sandwich!

According to Billboard, Taylor Swift got a sandwich on her arrival in New Jersey.

"In New Jersey, we have a reputation for a great war between Taylor ham and pork roll," New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy said in a video. "Usually we let you call it what you want, but since we have a superstar coming to town we know all too well that we should commemorate the occasion. So today, we are declaring the official state sandwich of New Jersey a Taylor Swift ham, egg and cheese.

The mouth-watering meal and pronouncement were even put into writing as the gift was really special for them.

"Welcome to New Jersey, Taylor!" the governor continued with a smile. "We've been waiting for you, and it would have been a cruel summer without you."

The last time Taylor Swift performed in New Jersey was in 2018 for the "Reputation Tour." This is where she performed "Clean" for her Netflix documentary.

New Jersey Police Doesn't Want Swifties Outside MetLife

Meanwhile, the New Jersey State Police urged Swifties who don't have tickets to the event not to attend and wait outside the venue. In the past few shows, hundreds of Swifties who weren't successful in securing tickets waited outside and listened to the concert.

However, many pointed out that the queue and crowd outside the venue would be particularly thick because of the limited-edition release that Swift announced earlier this week.

Taylor Swift is performing three shows over the weekend at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. She released the special "Midnights (Til Dawn Edition)" in congruence with her three-day performance on the state. The said record will be "available exclusively for ticket holders this weekend."
