It seems like everything went south for Kanye West when he and his ex-wife Kim Kardashian announced their divorce.
The rapper spiraled when he found out the reality star was dating someone new, Pete Davidson; he came after the former "Saturday Night Live" comedian several times on social media, which led him to other controversial rants online.
Around the same time West was blasting Davidson on Instagram, he was also calling out Adidas, his former collaborator for his clothing and shoe brand, Yeezy.
Going Broke?
According to Forbes, prior to the online meltdown and countless controversies, West was finally included in Forbes World's Billionaires list in 2020.
However, the controversies paved the way for his downfall and eventually, he was taken off the list after years and years of lobbying to get on it.
Now, not only is the "Gold Digger" rapper no longer a billionaire, he is also considered a disgrace by fellow rappers and several key figures in the fashion industry.
But it gets worse: West's $57 million mansion in Malibu is rotting away after he quietly shut down his construction company, Yeezy Construction Inc., last November, reports say.
The mansion was supposed to be not just a home, but essentially a work of art, as it was even described to be "part house, part sculpture" by architect Tadao Ando.
Financial Ruin
After suffering one devastating loss after another, it was also reported that Adidas was given legal permission to freeze almost $100 million of West's Yeezy funds back in November 2022.
According to reports, West had already anticipated this move from Adidas when he declared that he would be running for president again in 2024.
"The reason why I'm announcing that I'm running for president is I want the FCC to look at my money," the rapper explained.
"[...] I went from being a multi-billionaire to not even being able to use my Apple Pay four nights ago.
"[...] You know this can happen to an American that didn't even steal anything, that didn't even hurt anyone. This could just happen to you for saying the wrong idea out loud."
Following the news of Adidas and West finally severing ties and their feud becoming legal, Nike weighed in on the issue.
According to reports, Nike reportedly warned the German athletic brand about working with West, but Adidas ignored the red flags and continued.
