On Saturday, June 3, alarm arose among spectators when renowned soloist Ethel Cain suddenly collapsed while performing at the Sydney Opera House Drama Theatre.
She had been singing her beloved song, "A House in Nebraska," when she lost consciousness.
Rushing to the stage, the members of her band quickly attended to their singer, who had collapsed. Assisting in getting the artist back on their feet, they then escorted them offstage.
Ethel Cain, the stage name of 24-year-old American singer-songwriter Hayden Silas Anhedonia, was raised in a religious background in the South.
According to Flood Magazine, her latest album, "Preacher's Daughter," examines topics including the failure of aspirations and a critique of the American Empire.
Witnesses in the front row during the Vivid Festival reported that when she collapsed, it seemed the singer had taken a hard blow to her head.
Hours after the collapse, there hadn't been any news available regarding whether she would be able to carry on with her concerts in Brisbane and Hobart as initially planned.
Ethel Cain Fans Reactions
Shocked reactions filled the air after Ethel Cain fell to the ground during her Vivid Live set in Sydney, having only sung three songs. Worrying messages were posted on social media, with one fan writing, "Hoping she's okay!"
Though an update had been made informing attendees that "all is stable," a concert-goer remarked that their event had still been canceled. They added, "But at least they said the situation is stable."
One follower posted, "This is super scary. I really hope she finds some time to relax and replenish her body with liquids and electrolytes. Sending lots of love."
