To say that "The Idol" has been the recent talk of the town is actually an understatement. The new HBO show produced by "Euphoria" creator Sam Levinson and superstar The Weeknd has been a trending topic on social media for the past few months.
Its lead star, Lily-Rose Depp, plays the main character, Jocelyn, a young pop idol aiming to get her breakthrough in Hollywood. Depp's acting on the show received polarizing reviews from audiences, but a person pretending to be Depp seemed to have received more praise from the internet than her.
Chloe Fineman's Lily-Rose Depp Impersonation on 'The Idol'
Chloe Fineman, a repertory player of "Saturday Night Live" since Season 45, gave the ultimate impression of Jocelyn that got everyone laughing and talking online.
In an Instagram video she uploaded on Jun. 8, 2023, Fineman had everyone double checking their screens as she uploaded her "lost" audition video for the role of Jocelyn on "The Idol."
"My audition for THE IDOL (must have got lost in the mail) @theidol (@lilyrose_depp is a GODDESS of talent)," she shared on Instagram.
In the video, Fineman is the striking image of Depp and her character Jocelyn. Complete with the grunge "The Idol-esque" makeup Depp had on the show, Fineman's spoof and impersonation will have you in stitches.
"Anyway, I met this guy last night, his name is Tedros... he was dressed in a bat cave, but I think he's gonna, like, change my career," Fineman mimicked while she was smoking a cigarette.
At one point in the video, Fineman shrouded her face in a red scarf, trying to sing Cher's "Believe" as if she was begging for her life.

Lily-Rose Depp, The Weeknd Loved Chloe Fineman's Jocelyn Impersonation
As expected, Fineman's Jocelyn's spoof went viral on social media. Numerous celebrities like Chrissy Teigen, Stephanie Beatriz, and even Quinta Brunson laughed and praised Fineman for the comedic bit.
But aside from them, Lily-Rose also got a whiff of Fineman's impersonation. She wasn't mad actually, instead, it got her laughing too: "'I'm loling ..... and ur makeup looks bomb"
The Weeknd, who now goes by Abel, quote tweeted the video on Twitter, replying only with crying emojis.
"The Idol" airs on HBO every Sunday, replacing the recently concluded hit series "Succession."
