Days after the end of their whirlwind romance, a writing was on the wall done by Matty Healy for his ex-girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
This became even more evident when The 1975 front man wrote a massive "Sorry" onto his stage backdrop at his most recent gig, as reported by The Sun.
Evidently, loyal fans of the "folklore" singer were already aware this was a probable outcome ever since they began dating.
On the night of their performance at St Anne's Park in Dublin, Matty did a solo acoustic set after their opener Caroline Polachek had to regrettably back away due to health concerns.
The group decided that some visuals would fit the special moment, so they got creative. Jamie Squire sang an impressive cover of Leon Russell's "A Song For You" while Matty painted a note and a question mark onto a white sheet with black spray paint.
As masses of people filled the room, Matty's gaze fell to the pint of beer in his hand. He had made a mistake on stage, and instead of letting it fuel him and his music, he found himself using it as an excuse to drown out his sorrows.
His voice echoed to the crowd with a statement, "It is not even normal, it is just because it is so nice."
"But you drink so much of it like it is some milk that you forget the songs, so I came in at the wrong time then.
"I thought it was quite dramatic as well, I was making my way over here and it was all eye contact and just a p----d bloke."
As Matty Healy stumbled around the stage, band members George Daniel and Adam Hann were spotted exchanging concerned whispers.
Following the performance, Matty became desperate for a cigarette and asked the backstage crew to locate them in his trademark lab coat pocket.
As he stood at the center of the stage, Matty lit a cigarette and enjoyed a long drag before carrying on with his performance.

That same week, Taylor Swift's devoted fans also observed her vocal cords strainingas she sat at the piano during an Eras Tour show in Chicago.
Staring into her audience, the singer sang "I Don't Wanna Live Forever" from the 2017 hit movie Fifty Shades Darker, which features Dakota Johnson.
Though she originally recorded this track alongside Zayn Malik, she looked determined as she heralded out each line of lyrics, "Wondering if I dodged a bullet, or just lost the love of my life?"
From this challenging situation, many believe that it will likely produce some compelling heartbreak songs from both Taylor Swift and Matty Healy and his band.
