'The Idol' Episode 2 Recap
Eagerly anticipating the reaction to her rendition of "World Class Sinner," Jocelyn sent a text to Tedros expressing her nerves and anticipation.
She then called together her team at her house, eager to showcase what she had crafted.
Explaining that the original work inspired the song, she proudly shared her version of the track with them.
Insisting that the current form of the song should remain the same, Nikki, a record label exec, has made it clear to Jocelyn that the sexually-charged remix she proposed will not be taking place.
Despite its success in the charts, Jocelyn remains adamant about releasing it herself and uses it as leverage.
Furious, Jocelyn storms off after a heated exchange with her manager, Nikkie. The former had mentioned that she could continue with a tour even when her mother had been ill - however, Nikkie made it very clear that the plan of action would not change, and any attempts to do so would be in vain.
Although there had been some challenges when piecing together Jocelyn's career, they were not now willing to venture into new territory.
To support Jocelyn's dreams, both Xander and Leah try to convince Nikki. As she cries in her room, Chaim takes it upon himself to calm her down. Jocelyn puts a glass of ice on her lap to invigorate herself while composing the song.
Recollecting their first encounter, she calls Tedros as he urges her to find new people who have faith in her.
When it came time to shoot Jocelyn's music video for "World Class Sinner," nobody was prepared for what happened. After much deliberation with her team, she was adamant about perfecting a particular scene and would only stop once it was right.
Considering a contingency plan, Nikkie inquired about Dyanne, Jocelyn's backup dancer. Chaim is quite concerned after Destiny tells him what she knows about Tedros; his character is questionable at best.
It didn't help that it was revealed Jocelyn had to be retouched regarding some cuts on her thighs.
Jane had a disastrous shoot, but upon hearing Dyanne's beautiful singing voice, she felt an instant urge to get her into a recording studio.
As for Jocelyn, despite delivering a flawless performance, her efforts were in vain due to an out-of-focus camera. Her disappointment and fatigue were palpable.
The time had come for Dyanneto take the spotlight instead of Jocelyn. As she informed a writer from Vanity Fair that her narrative was on the brink of becoming much more remarkable, Chaim visited Jocelyn at her residence.
A candid discourse ensued between them both, and it became clear that alterations were needed.
Desperate, Jocelyn reached for the phone and dialed Tedros. Surprisingly, he was working with Dyanne as well. Taking matters into their own hands, Tedros and his group (but not including Dyanne) went to Jocelyn's home to celebrate.
She voiced her worries about her future in the industry and her tour being scrapped, but Tedros gave her exactly what she needed - an encouraging ear followed by actionable advice.
Jocelyn made her way to the piano and heard Chloe, one of Tedros' followers, performing an exhilarating composition.
The other fans gathered around, mesmerized by Chloe's expertise on the instrument. Jocelyn herself was moved to tears as she sang along with Chloe's song, and Leia could only watch anxiously from a corner of the room, apprehensive about what path Jocelyn was pursuing.
