Matthew Knowles Says Elevator Fight Was Staged To Boost 'On The Run' Ticket Sales

Beyonce's parents have been very vocal these days.

First her mother Tina Knowles spoke candidly about her daughter's marriage with TMZ and now her father is spilling the beans on the infamous elevator fight.

Mattew Knowles, who once managed Destiny's Child, alleges the elevator fight that took place at the Met Gala this past May was staged to help boost ticket sales for Yonce and Jay Z's On The Run tour.

According to Vibe, he dropped the bomb about the brawl while calling into a Houston radio station Wednesday (Aug. 27).

"There's a tour going on," he explained. "So you have to sometimes ignite that tour, it's called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot of time. Everybody's talking about it, ticket sales went up. Solange's album sales went up 200 percent."

The incident caused a lot of chatter after TMZ released a surveillance video of Solange violently attacking Jay Z on an elevator. In the video, Solange can be seen wildly kicking and swinging at the hip-hop mogul as Beyonce stood idly.

The "Drunk In Love" singer mentioned the incident in the Nicki Minaj-assisted "Flawless (Remix)" sing rapping, "We escalating, up in this b***h like elevators/Of course sometimes s**t go down/When it's a billion dollars on an elevator."

Solange was notably distant from the couple during the VMAs. Page Six reports that Solange wasn't allowed "anywhere near Jay and Bey" during the show and was seated in a different section.
