A new Olivia Rodrigo era is upon us, and she finally blessed us with the announcement of her new single, "Vampire." Along with the announcement was the cover art of the Olivia Rodrigo new song.
This is the first new song of Olivia Rodrigo since she released "Sour" in 2021, which earned her three Grammy Awards, making her one of the most successful debuts in music and Grammy history.
Olivia Rodrigo 'Vampire'
In a new post she shared on her Instagram account, the 20-year-old singer revealed the "Vampire" release date.
"my new song vampire is out june 30th!" Rodrigo posted on the social media platform. "you can presave now. so excited for this ahhhhh!!!!!!!"
The album art of Olivia Rodrigo "Vampire" was a side portrait of herself, sporting winged eyeliner and bold dark lipstick. The entire photo was in black-and-white-the only color seen was her light purple band-aid forming a cross on her neck, presumably concealing a vampire bite.
The "Vampire" release date that Olivia Rodrigo announced confirmed the fans' speculation that the "expiration date" of her "drivers license," alluding to her previous era, was in June. 30, 2023. A Spotify graphic shows the updated "drivers license" expiry date, and a cryptic clock on her website also leads to the said "Vampire" release date.
On her website, a lengthier note reads: "Hi guys! Im so excited to announce that my new single 'vampire' is coming out June 30th!... so excited for this new chapter. thank you so much for all your support. love always, Liv."
More cussing might be expected on the new Olivia Rodrigo album as a "Parental Advisory: Explicit Content" sticker was plastered on the site's webstore
Olivia Rodrigo 'Vampire' Might Be Her Next Grammy-Winning Song?
As mentioned, Olivia Rodrigo's "Vampire" was her latest song to be released since the very successful rollout of her debut album, "Sour.
The album was a frontrunner at the 2022 Grammy Awards, with predictions saying she would take home Album of the Year and "drivers license" snagging Record of the Year. However, he lost to Jon Batiste's "We Are" and Silk Sonic's "Leave The Door Open," to many people's dismay.
However, Rodrigo did not go home award-less as she took home Best New Artist, Best Pop Vocal Album for "Sour," and Best Pop Vocal Performance for "drivers license."
