Doja Cat just released her newest single, "Attention," and it is trending all over Twitter! The new Doja Cat song has been making rounds as it seemingly highlighted the singer's rapping power, a huge contrast to her previous songs that had highlighted her singing capabilities.

Aside from the catchy beat and lyrics of Doja Cat's new song, what piqued many fans' interest was how Doja Cat referenced Nicki Minaj in the song and how it was also a seeming shot to Cardi B!

Doja Cat New Song 'Attention'

"Attention" is the lead single on Doja Cat's still-untitled album, to be released this year. The song was already accompanied by a music video that features the 27-year-old artist rapping on the streets. (via Billboard)

At one point in the music video, Doja Cat rapped this:

"Talkin' 'bout "she fallin' off, why she get booked? / Man, I been humble, I'm tired of all the deprecation / Just let me flex, bruh, just let me pop shit / "Why she think she Nicki M? She think she hot shit"

At the latter part of the rap verse, Doja Cat specifically mentioned Nicki Minaj by saying, "Nicki M."

On stan Twitter, many of Nicki Minaj's fans, whom she calls "Barbz," believe that the following line was a shot at the female rapper widely pitted against Nicki Minaj-Cardi B. This is because she also referenced "Hot Shit," a song that Cardi B released in 2022 that, despite a star-studded collaboration with Kanye West and Lil Durk, did not perform commercially well.

Doja Cat, Nicki Minaj Friendship

In the past, Doja Cat has professed her love for Nicki Minaj on many occasions. Supposedly, Minaj was invited to Doja Cat's song "Get Into It (Yuh)." Despite Minaj not getting on board, the rapper decided to shout out Nicki Minaj in the song, saying:"I Love You Nicki."

Aside from that, the two rappers broke the Guinness Book of World Records with "Say So (Remix)" as it became the first song by a female rap duo to reach number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 charts.

As for another collaboration between the two, nothing is known yet. However, both artists are expected to release their new albums this year. Doja Cat's album release date has yet to be revealed. As for Nicki Minaj's new album, it is expected to drop on Oct. 20, 2023.
