In a frank discussion, musician Gavin Rossdale shared his perspective on co-parenting with ex-wife Gwen Stefani.
The former couple must cope with the demands of joint custody of their children while adjusting to different parenting methods.
Gavin, 57, opened up in a candid interview with the "Not So Hollywood" podcast about his relationship with Gwen, 53.
He shared his perspective on the dynamics between them, according to People magazine.
In his words, there were two options: they could attempt to co-parent together and see how it goes, or they could parent individually. However, "I think we just parent," was his conclusion.
The musician added: "We're really different people ... I don't think there's much similarity in the way we bring them up, but I think that gives them an incredible perspective to then choose which pieces of those two lives they'd like to inherit and move on with and which part of themselves come out of the whole process."
Expressing his thoughts, the speaker declared that giving people a broad perspective is essential and allowing them to think independently. "We have a few conflicting opinions," they said, "so it would be crucial for them to come up with their conclusions."
After 13 years of marriage, Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale called it quits in 2015. Through their time together, they had three sons -- Kingston (15 years old), Zuma (14 years old), and Apollo (nine years old). Nowadays, they share joint custody of their children.
The No Doubt front woman then moved on and tied the knot with country singer Blake Shelton in 2021.
A source recently informed Radar that Gavin had been creating significant issues regarding co-parenting with Gwen.
The insider commented: "It's tough for Gwen to co-parent with Gavin and their three children are heavily affected by it."

Rumor has it that Gavin sends confusing vibes to his ex-wife.
Reports from a source suggested to the outlet that Gavin been telling her she looks "really pretty," but this behavior creates uncertainty in Gwen's mind.
Furthermore, it appears that Gavin has yet to try to develop a bond with Blake.
It's been revealed by a source close to them that rock star and the country musician rarely interact with one another - even going so far as only acknowledging each other with just a wave.
This insider expressed disbelief at this situation, noting that "it's really strange" and how, "unfortunately, their children are used as pawns in all of this."
Additionally, rumors have been circulating that Gwen desired to move her sons to the ranch in Oklahoma owned by Blake, a place "where they are all the happiest," however, according to an informant, Gavin is refusing the idea.
Still, it's best to take this report with a grain of salt.
