Though it was only Sunday morning that Suge Knight was shot mutiple times at a West Hollywood nightclub, the former Death Row Records CEO has already been released from the hospital. TMZ reports that early yesterday morning, Aug. 27, Knight left Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after being treated for three days, with his doctors claiming that he won't even need any rehab. I'm pretty sure the only person to ever handle a gunshot wound better than Suge Knight is Werner Herzog.
Knight was shot five times in the stomach and once in the arm during a pre-VMA party thrown by Chris Brown at West Hollywood's 1Oak Nightclub. Two other people were also shot during the incident: a 19-year-old woman and a 33-year-old woman, who are also expected to make full recoveries. Knight's speedy release from the hospital comes as a bit of a surprise, as BBC News reported yesterday that he was "seriously ill."
It was reported yesterday that the investigation of the shooting had been moved over to the LAPD Homicide Bureau, and is now being treated as an attempted homicide. Though there was originally some doubt as to whether or not Knight was the intended target of the shooting (with some even suggesting that the target was actually Chris Brown), New York Daily News reported that Knight was the intended target.
So far, no weapon has been recovered, and no suspect has yet been detained. Knight apparently isn't helping matters either, as he is reportedly refusing to cooperate with the LAPD's investigation of the shooting.
