SZA thought that by leaving college after just two semesters, she had "disrespected" her parents.

The Kill Bill hitmaker discussed her brief time studying marine biology at Delaware State University while speaking with Elle.

She had two semesters of perfect grades before losing interest and quitting.

In an interview with the magazine, the 33-year-old said she did it just so her parents would see how smart she was but after proving her point, she had to leave already. SZA, whose true name is Solána Imani Rowe, said she "completely flunked out of school and stopped working at jobs that make any sense to people" and simply quit attending classes.

The Grammy Award winner now regrets the strain she imposed on her parents at the time. She said she feels as if she have long shown her parents a great deal of disrespect. She said informing her mother that, rather than going to school, she would prefer to run around the streets and work as a bartender at a strip club to pay for studio time must have been absurd to her parents.

But she has proven how right she is by pursuing a passion she has.

The performer joined Top Dawg Entertainment in 2013, becoming the label's first female artist, and in 2017 she released her debut album, Ctrl. The European leg of SZA's SOS Tour is now in progress. The journey started in February and is scheduled to end in Phoenix, Arizona, on October 29. On her UK tour so far, SZA has been joined by a number of well-known figures.

This weekend, the pop icon will visit London's The O2.

It comes after earlier performances in June in Manchester and Glasgow.

Along with a backup act, she has been joined on tour by notable guests. RAYE, who will perform as the opening act for all four of the pop diva's London performances, will join the pop sensation at The O2.

She has received four BRIT nominations. On February 3 of this year, her most recent album, My 21st Century Blues, was released.

On Spotify, she has 26 million monthly listeners. Escapism, Bed, and Flip A Switch are three of RAYE's most well-liked songs on the service. At the AO Arena in Manchester, Travis Scott performed two songs while SZA sang the other. She performed alone at the OVO Hydro in Glasgow without a special guest. Travis Scott joined her once more for the opening performance at The O2 on June 17.

He did attend SZA's concert in the Ziggo Dome in the Netherlands on June 1 with her. Lizzo, Phoebe Bridgers, Cardi B, Summer Walker, and Lil Baby have all performed with her earlier in the tour.
