A video of "American Idol" judge Katy Perry dressed and behaving like a demented cat was posted to the show's Instagram over the weekend, and fans were left shocked and dismayed.

Now the star is dealing with an uproar from viewers calling for her removal from the judging panel.

The "Fireworks" singer's outfit was nothing short of eye-catching as she sat at the judges' table alongside Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.

She wore shiny black high-waisted spandex leather pants, a long sleeve-deep V-neck sheer bodysuit, and towering pointy platform booties - complete with a nearly six-inch heel!

Her ensemble had her co-judges raising their eyebrows.

Lionel's remark of "we have cat woman with us" was met by Bryan's amusing response of dubbing his fellow judge as "Katy Purry".

Katy contorted her fingers into claws at her finale and waved them across Bryan's shoulder.

"I'm ready to prowl on talent," she announced. "That's me pawing," she clarified, while Bryan felt awkward with a smile on his lips.

When the video came out, it was clear that many viewers had an unfavorable opinion.

Many people called it cringe-worthy, and they took to Twitter to express their distaste - with some users demanding her removal from the show.

One person wrote: "Can't stand her they need to get rid of her & Luke."

Others agreed, with one user labeling it "so stupid" for airing on TV.

Additionally, many people felt it was inappropriate for her to behave that way.

Other people were split on what to make of the strange event.

Some believed that they were amusing performers, while others felt they had taken their act too far and it was becoming repetitive. It could be seen as a pattern emerging.

Katy Perry's conduct during the latest season of "American Idol" has been met with plenty of criticism from the show's fans.

From her wardrobe to her comments to contestants, many seem dissatisfied and could get their wish soon as reports suggest she is considering leaving the show.

However, it isn't the first time Katy has faced such disapproval.

In May, it was reported that after six years of being a judge on "American Idol," the 38-year-old pop star was ready to quit due to harsh criticism and accusations of her being portrayed by the show's producers as the "nasty judge" through editing.

Sources from several publications say she felt she had reached a tipping point when contestants booed in response to her comments.
