Earlier this week, "The Voice" announced that they would be introducing a brand new addition to the family in the form of double coaches! This would ultimately bring the total coach count to five, should there be no other addition aside from the country-pop duo.
NBC just announced that Dan + Shay would be the first few coaches on the 25th Season of "The Voice."
'The Voice' Double Coach Dan + Shay
According to NBC, Grammy-winning country pop duo Dan + Shay will be filling in the first-ever double coach chair in the history of the reality singing competition franchise in the United States. (via CNN)
In different international formats of the said competition, Double Coaches have been introduced. This would be the first time it was featured in the United States.
Variety reports that Dan + Shay will be joining country music icon Reba McEntire, John Legend, and Chance The Rapper on The Voice Season 25 in 2024. It would seem like Niall Horan and Gwen Stefani exits after Season 24.
Stefani, Horan, McEntire, and Legend will be the coaches for the upcoming Season 24 of The Voice this coming fall 2023.
As for Dan + Shay, they aren't actually very new to the competition, as they have served as Team Blake's adviser in Season 20.
Blake Shelton left the show after 23 seasons, making him the longest coach of the show. He left a month ago when "The Voice" Season 23 wrapped up.

Who is Dan + Shay?
Composed of Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney, the country-pop duo started in Nashville, Tennessee, and eventually became one of the biggest duos in the Country music genre.
Originally, Shay was from T-Pain's Nappy Boy Entertainment while Smyers was a member of a group called Bonaventure. Upon meeting in 2012, the two eventually performed together on the same day they met and got publishing offers immediately after two months.
To date, they already have 46 RIAA certifications, including multiplatinum singles and albums. They already have nine No. 1 songs on Country radio. They also became the first Country Duo who has won the Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance three times in a row.
They won the said Grammy for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with "10,000 Hours" (with Justin Bieber), "Speechless," and "Tequila."
