Rob Stewart has made a name for himself and cemented his music career as a rock n' roll singer, which is why fans were baffled when he announced that he will be releasing a swing album.
Everyone was worried that the "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy" singer might be retiring.
"I'd like to clear up any confusion that I may have caused with my dear fans and the media," Stewart began in his handwritten announcement, posted on his Instagram.
"I shall never retire! I was put on this Earth to be a singer and will keep doing so for as long as the good Lord lets me."
Stewart got into music at a young age; he was inspired by singers like Bob Dylan, Ramblin' Jack Elliot, Woody Guthrie, Alex Campbell, Ewan MacColl, and Derroll Adams.
He eventually found his sound though, and made his way down the rock n' roll lane. However, these days, he is trying out something new.
"I'll be playing the hits as advertised for the U.K., U.S., South America, and Vegas and into 2024 but no retirement as such," the singer reassured fans.
Rob Stewart's Retirement Rumors
According to reports, the rumors began when the singer revealed in an interview with BBC that he is working on a "swing album with Jools Holland."
He did not, however, state that he will be retiring or that he will never perform any of his rock n' roll hits ever again.
could never turn my back on the songs that I've written and sung over the last six decades. They are like my children. I created them and I love them. I'll always come back to them, just like I did after The Great American Songbook series, which I shall boastfully add, sold 26 million albums!"
Rob Stewart Touring Soon?
The singer left fans with one last impressionable hint about his next move regarding his music career, to prove that he is, in fact, going not going anywhere.
"I look forward to seeing you on the road with all the hits, and I can't wait to introduce you to my new swing album next year," he wrote.
Although it should be noted that during the interview, Stewart admitted that he is moving on from his usual genre to try out something new, adding that "everything has to come to an end sooner or later."
