Recent reports have indicated that Foo Fighters, headed by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, will be unexpectedly appearing at UK's music festival Glastonbury this weekend.
As per rumors, they will appear on the Pyramid stage at 6:10 pm on Friday.
For a year, it has been a mystery who occupies this particular slot. Previously, it was thought that the band Pulp held it, but they were replaced with an act known as The Churnups.
Furthermore, at last year's Pyramid stage, Dave Grohl made quite a remarkable entrance for Paul McCartney's headline performance.
Hundreds of thousands of Worthy Farm music festival attendees witnessed a fantastic show when the band took the stage.
It is said that renowned artist David Hockney created the visuals used during their performance as they sang some of their most popular songs.
The Daily Mail has reported that the Foo Fighters will honor their late drummer, Taylor Hawkins, at the upcoming gig with exceptional performance. The American rock band took a break from touring following his unexpected passing. But just last month, they released an album called "But Here We Are" in tribute to him.
It was a tragedy when Taylor, who was 50 at the time, was discovered lifeless in his upscale hotel room last year. The cause of death is purported to have been due to overdosing on drugs while the group was touring in Columbia.
Despite this loss, Josh Freese has taken up the mantle and serves as their new drummer.
Speculation was rampant before the mystery act The Churnups' big reveal, with some guessing Blur or Pulp and others even suggesting Foo Fighters star Dave Grohl had something to do with it.
This suspicion was stoked further when he added a post on social media that alluded to "churning up" emotions.
According to a statement Dave wrote on social media, "Hey, it's been a while. Now that we've returned from our first run of shows, I felt compelled to reach out and thank you all for being there for us."
He further said, "Every night, when I see you singing, it makes me sing harder."
"When I see you screaming, it makes me scream louder. When I see your tears, it brings me to tears. And when I see your joy, it brings me joy."
Dave concluded, "But I see you... and it feels good to see you, churning up these emotions together. Because we've always done this together. Time and Again. See you soon. Dave."
Throughout Glastonbury's illustrious history, some of music's all-time greats have stepped onto center stage at Pyramid which includes Jay-Z, Oasis and The Rolling Stones.
