As he began his eagerly anticipated Glastonbury performance on the Pyramid stage on Sunday, Sir Elton John made sure to express gratitude to his fans. After performing two songs back-to-back, the 76-year-old said to the crowd that everything feels special and emotional night because it may be his last UK show ever.

Some fans are now clutching on the word "may" like a lifeline, thinking it's possible John would still have more concerts down the road, according to Mirror UK.

Did he change his mind about retiring? We shall see.

Elton John Real Health Status

As he gets ready to perform as the headlining act at this year's Glastonbury, the singer's health seems better than ever. But the musician wasn't seen in a wheelchair until just last year.

The most recent illness that Elton John, 76, had to deal with prevented him from continuing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour. The singer for Rocketman was forced to cancel the tour in 2021 after falling and injuring his hip.

Festival-goers have been treated to fantastic performances by both headliners and unexpected bands from the list, including Arctic Monkeys, Lizzo, and Guns N' Roses.

The final day was another incredible day, with a wide variety of musical bands performing on the stages spread out around Worthy Farm's map, including Blondie, War On Drugs, Queens Of The Stone Age, and many others. Still, the most eagerly awaited performance of the weekend is Sir Elton's.

There have been rumors about Britney Spears being his headline Glastonbury guest for some time, but this still remains to be seen.

Although everyone, including Sir Elton's partner David Furnish, has kept quiet, the festival's director Emily Eavis has hinted at what fans could expect from the singer best known for his song "Rocket Man." Eavis said that there are a lot of artists performing at Glastonbury, but they frequently don't have much direct contact. However, Elton has been actively involved, and have collaborated with them extensively.

She told Glastonbury Free Press that he was "so engaged and excited about what Glastonbury is."

He has been creating a set that is entirely specific to Glastonbury, she continued. His passion for accomplishing that is great.

Tonight's concert, which has been described as the last UK date of his farewell tour, will serve as the festival's grand finale and feature a historic performance by the Tiny Dancer musician.

Elton John and Jacob Lusk

The largest crowd the Pyramid Stages has seen all weekend was present for Elton John's headline performance at Glastonbury Festival when he invited Jacob Lusk of Gabriels fame to play 'Are You Ready for Love'.

Elton John stunned the crowd at Glastonbury by bringing out Jacob Lusk to play a timeless version of "Are You Ready for Love" during his headlining show. A talented American vocalist from California named Lusk is currently a part of the band Gabriels, which also includes Ryan Hope and Ari Balouzian. Lusk previously competed on American Idol.

Earlier on, John told BBC London that he "hadn't really thought about" playing Glastonbury and that the idea made him feel "a little intimidated." John also revealed to Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2 that he had never been requested to perform at the Somerset festival until the 2023 edition, prior to his historic Glastonbury headline set.
