There have been some rumors about Zayn Malik releasing an album soon, but the confirmation finally came from the singer's collaborator.
During his interview with Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, One Republic's Ryan Tedder revealed that he has been working with the "Pillow Talk" singer for the latter's new album.
"I guess the cat's out of the bag but I've been working with Zayn a bunch for the past eight months as well," Tedder casually announced.
Tedder and Malik are long-time collaborators. They first met in the early 2010s, back when Malik was still a part of One Direction.
He wrote a song titled "Right Now" for the boy group. The song is included in their third studio album "Midnight Memories," released in 2013.
Fans know that whatever Tedder and Malik have prepared for the new album will surely be a hit, after all, the singer-songwriter is known to produce banger hits like Beyonce's "Halo," Adele's "Rumor Has It," and of course One Republic's "Counting Stars."
Zayn Malik's New Album
Talk of Malik gearing up for a new era in his career was shared as a blind item by the gossip account Deux Moi.
An anonymous source wrote, "Fans of this lowkey boy bander get excited! You know new music is coming, but he is also shooting mid-June in NYC!"
A week after the tip, Malik mysteriously wiped his Instagram account clean, which only heightened the fans' anticipation and excitement towards the prospect of new music.
"And we're here for it!" a fan wrote.
"We need an album," another added.

On the other hand, several netizens wondered if the "Entertainer" singer's move to clean out his Instagram account was not because he is gearing up for a new album, but because he was unfollowed by Selena Gomez on Instagram.
"Omg... I wonder if this is because Selena Gomez unfollowed him?" A netizen alleged.
"Man couldn't handle an unfollow," another added.
"Blacked out? Is he ok?"
According to reports, the wipe-out came shortly after Gomez unfollowed the singer, as well as his ex-girlfriend and baby mama Gigi Hadid.
However, insiders close to the Rare Beauty mogul insisted that Gomez does not have any bad blood with Malik or Hadid.
"There are absolutely no hard feelings with anyone she unfollowed," a source told People magazine.
As of this writing, none of the celebrities have issued any statements regarding the incident, and Malik is yet to officially announce his new album's arrival.
