When it was announced that Paul McCartney and Ringo Star have come together to work on one last The Beatles song, with the use of artificial intelligence, fans' interests were piqued.
However, the news also brought along a wave of confusion and criticisms, like whether AI would purely replace John Lennon's vocals.
It was later revealed that John Lennon's vocals are still very much his own, thanks to an old demo he recorded prior to his death, but an AI was used to "get it pure."
Instead of focusing too much on the technical side of things, Starr, on the other hand, reminisced on the process of working with his former bandmates and hearing their voices again.
"This was beautiful," the singer said. "It's the final track you'll ever hear with the four lads. And that's a fact."
According to reports, Starr promised their fans that they would "never" fake Lennon's vocals and that fans should look forward to the new song.
"You never know when you're gonna drop, that's the thing," he cheekily added. "And I'm not dropping yet."
Starr will be celebrating his 83rd birthday on July 7. He just wrapped up touring alongside his All-Starr band.
John Lennon's Vocals, AI
McCartney came forward some months ago and explained how AI was used in making The Beatles song: "We've seen some confusion and speculation about it. Seems to be a lot of guesswork out there."
"Can't say too much at this stage but to be clear, nothing has been artificially or synthetically created. It's all real and we all play on it," he explained. "We cleaned up some existing recordings - a process which has gone on for years."
Lennon and George Harrison are the two members of The Beatles who have long since passed away.
The concept of hearing a new song from the superstar band was once absurd, but with the help of technology, it seems like even the impossible is now possible.
The Beatles' Rise
The Beatles was formed in Liverpool in 1960. They were active for a total of 10 years before their subsequent devastating end.
Lennon and Harrison manned the guitars, while McCartney with the bass and Starr with the drums.
In 1971, The Beatles won Best Original Song Score for the movie "Let It Be," released in 1970.
They are one of the best-selling bands in music history and are considered one of the most influential rock bands.
