Austin Richard Post (known professionally as Post Malone) was born on July 4, 1995 in Dallas, Texas. While Post was growing up in Dallas, he exhibited a keen interest on different kinds of music. The then-aspiring rapper decided that he would join a band when he got older, due to the influence of the video game, Guitar Hero, as per All Music. Post knew he wanted to become an MC when his father handed him a copy of Terror Squad's "Lean Back".

Post Malone started his venture into the music business when he began hanging out with Dallas crew of the IRAS, and, hence, paved the way for him to move to Los Angeles thereafter. Not too long afterwards, Post posted a track of his called "White Iverson" online in the initial part of 2015. The said post of the song reached a million views within a month's time. This feat was the key for Post to be signed on for a record deal with Republic records later on during the same year.

On August 2016, Post officially released his debut single called, "Go Flex", which was released together with his debut mixtape. The album reached the number four spot of the Billboard 200. Down the road, "Stoney" was certified multi-platinum.

Post Malone's sophomore album, "Beerbongs and Bentleys" climbed to the top of the chart right away upon its release. The album got a nomination at the 2019 Grammys for Album of the Year. Post talks about the trappings of fame in "Beerbongs and Bentleys."
