Despite her record-breaking feats over the past years, Taylor Swift fans are scared and concerned about the singer's career.
With the ongoing Eras Tour, Swift's fandom easily shows how strong they are compared to other fans as they continue to make sold-out concert records. Amid their celebration, some fans expressed how "genuinely scared" they are about her future as a musician.
Can AI Affect Taylor Swift's Career?
Swifties recently spoke about their growing concerns due to the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the music industry, The Mirror reported.
The concerned fans gathered on the "Lover" singer's sub-Reddit and voiced out their anxieties, especially after a track mimicking Swift's voice as it sings a song by The Weeknd emerged. The continuous emergence of AI-generated song covers is caused by the growing number of AI websites that allows the public to generate popular songs and apply the voice of their favorite artists.

What's worse is that some internet users fell into the bait and truly thought the particular singer truly covered a song.
The post, titled, "I'm genuinely frightened of how far AI is going," showed comments from Swifties reacting to the AI version of The Weeknd's "Starboy," which featured Swift's AI voice. While some of them approved of the song cover, others felt incredibly worried about the "Back To December" singer's career.
"No matter how well written the AI song might be, a lot of its appeal as a potential Taylor Swift song is lost because it's not coming from her," one said. "But the covers are indeed getting scarily good. How this progresses is almost entirely up to the labels."
Another wrote, "AI will absolutely change society in ways we can't anticipate. Many for the good. But many for the worse. It'll be fascinating to watch how society adapts as a whole."
Is AI in the Music Industry Crippling Musicians?
Over the past months, musicians have been sharing divided opinions over the use of AI to make a singer cover a particular song.
Forbes set Drake and The Weeknd's AI voices, noting that the singers never truly recorded the AI songs nor approved of the use of their voices to be used in creating such music.
Meanwhile, some sites consider AI a game-changer for the music industry, while others enumerated all the negative effects of its continuous rise.
