Is Britney Spears at the receiving end of a violent attack? Allegedly yes.
As reported by the TMZ, a member of NBA star Victor Wembanyama's security is accused of assaulting Britney Spears on Wednesday night in Las Vegas after backhanding her in the face.
One cannot deny what happened since Britney reportedly herself has reported the incident to the police.
Around 8:30 p.m., the event occurred at the Catch restaurant inside the ARIA Hotel.
Sam Asghari, Britney's husband, and two other people entered the restaurant with them.
As she walked into the casino, she was surrounded by fans.
Britney and the others headed over to Catch, and as they walked inside, Britney noticed Victor.
She reportedly approached him to ask if they could take a picture together because she was a fan. However, when she touched his right shoulder on the back, the San Antonio Spurs' director of team security-the team that selected Victor last month-immediately backhanded her, sending her to the ground and breaking her glasses.
After gathering herself, Britney Spears just went to her table. According to reports, the security guard approached the table and apologised. The guard even allegedly told Spears she should just "understand" because she knows too well what happens when one is surrounded by fans. His apology was accepted by Britney. After spending time with Victor's security guard, Britney's security team however, still reported a possible battery to the Metropolitan Police Department.
One can only imagine the trauma Britney Spears must be reliving though - by being slapped that way. Although it could really be an accident, Spears in the past already said she's traumatized by slaps.
According to Britney Spears, her mother once gave her a "so hard" smack for going out with Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton while she was watching over the singer's two sons.
The troubled pop artist admitted in an Instagram post that she wanted she could "see what [it] feels like" to smack someone. Spears claimed that the event happened following her split from dancer Kevin Federline, her ex-husband.
"The first time I ever got slapped was the one night Paris and Lindsay dropped me off at my beach house with my babies. Kevin left me at that point, so I had a small beach house and my mother was watching Jayden and Preston," she said.
Spears recalled that the particular violence when she stayed out late with Hilton and Lohan until around 4 a.m., leaving her mother "pissed."
"I walked in, she looked at me and slapped me so hard that I will never forget it! [Since] then I've always wondered what it must feel like to slap someone. GUESS I WILL NEVER KNOW!" she told fans. "Stay classy folks! This was all 15 years ago... I mean we've all grown up since then!"
