Taylor Swift has already announced a string of international dates for her "The Eras Tour" and there are several countries that are not part of the list. Since the musician is in demand in some countries, there have been politicians involved in requesting the pop star to visit her fans in their homeland.
According to Billboard, a Thai political leader named Pita Limjaroenrat, the leader of Thailand's Move Forward Party, requested for the musician to perform in his country as she canceled her last appearance due to "the coup."
In a tweet, the politician said, "Hey Taylor! Big fan of yours. Btw, Thailand is back on track to be fully democratic after you had to cancel last time due to the coup. The Thai people have spoken via the election and we all look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful nation of ours!"
He added that he would be singing "Lavender Haze" from the album "Midnights" with her if ever she granted his request.
As of this writing, the pop star has yet to respond to Limjaroenrat's request.
Taylor Swift Cancels Thailand Concert in 2014
According to Time Magazine, the musician was scheduled to perform in Thailand in 2014, but had to cancel her appearance due to the country's "military seized control of the government."
Fans were looking forward to seeing the pop star perform in the country for the first time that's why they were disappointed to hear about the cancelation of the show. The tour date was not rescheduled again.
According to the organizers for her Thailand show, BEC-Tero Entertainment, the decision about that happened was difficult for all parties. (via The Hollywood Reporter)
Other Politicians Reached Out to Taylor Swift to Bring 'The Eras Tour' to Their Countries
Pita Limjaroenrat was not the first politician who reached out to Taylor Swift about bringing her concert to their countries as this move was also done by the president of Chile, Gabriel Boric.
In early reports the nation's leader, who is a Swiftie himself, shared a video on YouTube, telling his country that he wrote to the musician not too long ago and he was hoping that she would respond.
"One day, she'll listen to the Chilean Swifties and I have no doubt she'll come to Chile," he said.
In addition, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also wanted the pop star to go to Canada for a concert as the country was not included on her tour dates.
