Yes, Ed Sheeran has a great voice and killer guitar skills ... but look at those legs!
Sheeran appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! just last night playing the part of Annie from the musical of the same name after news that ABC would be following suit to NBC, who will be putting on a live musical production of Peter Pan, on Thursday, Dec. 4. Naturally, Kimmel's bit was just that ... a bit. ABC is not putting a live muscial, but we can now, at the very least, envision what an Ed Sheeran-led Annie musical would be like.
"NBC announced recently they're planning a live televised production of the musical Peter Pan," Kimmel said, "and what's interesting about that is Peter Pan will be played by the very talented Allison Williams who is a woman. She's on the HBO show Girls."
The ABC host then added, "That's great, but tonight I have the honor of announcing a live production of the musical Annie, and here tonight to give us a sneak preview, the actor who will be playing the lead role of little orphan Annie –– Mr. Ed Sheeran!"
Watch Sheeran's Kimmel bit below:
Donned in the signature red dress, Sheeran looked strikingly like musical's lead –– kind of, but maybe a bit furrier, as Kimmel added towards the end of the segment. The x musican then took to the spotlight and began singing "Tomorrow," but had to cut himself short, joking, "Jimmy, I can't f*cking do this, man. I'm sorry." He then left the stage and dragged the oh, so stuffed Sandy with him.
It's offical –– we demand an Ed Sheeran-led Annie music. Make it happen, ABC!
